What's my latest obsession...
So, here goes.
I've finally decided on a brand. After months of praying, thinking, collaborating, and basically... at times even a little fretting. I've come up with a brand I can use to share whatever it is I end of making, creating, or designing. Neither too specific or generic. It's a brand name that I hope one day will grow into something special for all who love the unique, interesting, special and one of a kind pieces, God allows my hands to create. These items could be made of fabric, wood, glass, ceramic, photographic work, reclaimed pieces and well ... who knows what and where. Well, maybe God knows. But for me it's a journey worth walking through, hopefully you too will enjoy this journey with me.
I hope to finalize an etsy store where one could purchase these one of a kind creations in the next few weeks. I'll let you know when it's up and running and so course, I'll post. But until then. Here's a bunch of my fabric creations, I've made over the last couple of years. A special thanks ahead of time to my "models". Callie, Hannah, Patrick and Amber. You guys rock!
These girls are part of a special group of KD's, and they wanted to have a family dress for their bid day's as they welcome the newest members of their sisterhood. Patrick, (my future son in law) needed a bow tie of course to match Amber's dress. Making the perfect summer attire for any southern couple on any given southern soiree.
Here are a few of additional items, I've made for different occasions and opportunities.
Thanks again for the models in this shoot. And thanks to the owner of the random cotton field where it took place. LOVE it and we had a ball. Despite the short time frame, and wind. It was a great fall Sunday afternoon.
For those who really know me, know I love making things. Making items I usually can't afford otherwise. That's really what drives my creativity. Trying to make a lot out of very little. That being said, the last couple of years since I've returned from the mission field. I've worked on creating a wardrobe for my daughter. Bare with me, as there are a LOT of garments I've made. Some will be in this post, others, MANY others will follow in future posts. Here are a few of these creations.
This dress was for a Christmas party. Was a bit shorter than we thought, but was just adorable on her. Made of emerald green crepe'satin.
This little number was made of green eyelet and a basic white cotton. Of course it had to have pockets. It's also fully lined. On a special note, just days after this shoot, the entire structure was demolished and removed! Sad to see it go, but grateful, we finally got around to do this shoot before it was removed.
This one was for a special function attended by many of the sweetest and most precious young women at Troy University. Needless to say... its one dress of many (no, really MANY.... ) I made that helped to represent a group of young women for a memorable night shared with their "family". This is of Shantung silk. Fully lined.
LOVE the details in the back of this awesome little dress. An adorable addition to her Sunday dress, or special day time occasions wardrobe.
This little number was a great professional look, Amber needed for an out of town conference.
And here's one of her favorite pieces I've made. It's a navy linen skirt. And honestly... she needs at least 3 more as she has just about worn this one out!
Every time she wears this little number, she gets tons of compliments, and then they want to know where they can get one for themselves. It's precious to see her response. Well.... actually, my mom made it!
For me... this is priceless!
Thanks for checking ALL these out! Now that I've got this up and running. I'll be sure to post more frequently. And thanks for bearing with me, as I learn what this blogging thing is all about!
Blessings,
